Cross Cut Dirty Metric Century
6/4/2023

The (Northern) Cross Cut Dirty Metric Century is a route that has lived in my head for years and was almost the original LLWH route, but we were getting a bit too far out of town for that to be a possibility.

It was out on these scenic farm rides that a few friends decided that we needed to show everyone else what was available in a little known town off of Route 6 in NEPA.

The ride will begin at 9am (sign in starts at 8:00am and closes at 8:45am) the Howland Preserve (546 Vosburg Road
Tunkhannock, PA 18657) and will head out on some paved and some dirt/gravel roads in the Tunkhannock region of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

The route has a about 6700 feet of climbing over the 63 ish miles, which sounds like a ton, but most of it is short ups and downs with some climbs up from the Susquehanna river thrown in for good measure.

The ride will have one rest stop every 15 or so miles. We will have a larger stop at the Pizza Barn in Mehoopany where there will be burgers, chicken, and pasta salad along with other rest stop goodies.

There will be a chance to top off your water and sports drink before riding back to the preserve where there will be an afterparty of our own design to enjoy.

This ride will be staffed with a sag wagon and we will have some mobile mechanics, but please be ready to handle any minor repairs on your own, as the course is somewhat remote and it might take some time to reach a rider in need.

The course will be marked with painted arrows on the ground and we will provide a file for your GPS within one week of the ride.
